[Monetdb-developers] M4 Automatic multiplex version of .tostr: weird behavior

The following behavior is strange to me, but I am not sure if it is a bug or I have done something wrong. dayTimeDuration (dtduration) is defined in mil as: .ATOM dtduration = lng; .FROMSTR = dtduration_fromstr; .TOSTR = dtduration_tostr; .END; and in c as : typedef long long dtduration; also .tostr has the following sign. int dtduration_tostr(str *buf, int *len, dtduration *val) you can find all this in MonetDB4/src/modules/plain/monettime.mx Now, if I do either: dtduration("P12DT1H").print() [dtduration]("P12DT1H").print() I get the correct value printed. But if I create a BAT (void,str): var a0006 := new (void,str).seqbase (0@0); a0006.append("P12DT1H"); and do: [dtduration](a0006).print(); It gives back "PT0S", which means 0 duration, and thus the value of *val in dtduration_tostr is 0 (I checked that). So, could that be some bug with correct dealing of long values in the multiplex creation (btw. where is that happening?) Or am I missing some special case that I should take into consideration with long values? Thank you, lefteris P.S. yearMonthDuration which is defined as int works like a charm.

Hello, I just start my mserver5 on Fedora 10 (my desktop) and I get several messages like this one: #WARNING: LoaderException:loadLibrary:mdb: loader error libssl.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory libssl.so.6 missing... All my sources are updated. Some suggestions on how to resolve this problem are very welcome ;) Romulo

[Monetdb-developers] New stable branch created

I have created new stable branches for the upcoming release. From now on *all* bug fixes and *only* bug fixes *must* go to this new stable branch. I reserve the right to undo any changes that do not comply with this rule. All packages use the same name for the branch: Feb2009. So in each of your stable checkout directories you can do cvs update -rFeb2009 to update to the new branch. I have created branches for the following packages: MonetDB MonetDB4 MonetDB5 TestTools buildtools clients geom java pathfinder sql template testing. Note that datacell is missing from this list. It is not yet released and will not be released in this round. Also note that two packages now have stable branches that didn't use to have them: java and testing. Testing is a new package (split off from MonetDB) and java is now also incorporated in the release cycle. -- Sjoerd Mullender
