Installation issue

Hi, I started with a clone of MonetDB's mercurial repository. I'm using Ubuntu with Linux kernel 3.0.x I followed the instruction in HowToStart.rst bootstrap, config and make moved forward well. There were no complaints in "sudo make install" . . . It seems that it should be added as part of the installation. No? MonetDB - some questions

Greetings all, I have a simple question about MonetDB. I'm evaluating different several column-store db and I have some questions about Monet : * Is MonetDB a column-store database ? If yes I can't understand how I can query it with standard SQL (it'so simple bue it seem to be the ONLY column-store db that support SQL) * Can MonetDB scale-out over several machines (to build a cluster) for the same database ? * There is no .NET provider that I can use to connect to MonetDB for fast accessing from C# instead of using ODBC ? In general I'm looking for a database that can perform realtime queries against milions of records, because we are going to build a web application that need real fast access to the data. What are best practices in desing tables in MonetDB ? Thanks a lot to everyone! Hi Fabian, Does the core MonetDB development team use any public git repository or any other publicly available source-control repository for collaboration purposes? I did see this: https://github.com/search?langOverride=&q=MonetDB&repo=&start_value=1&type=… but it only seems to include more or less ad-hoc work on tooling. Perhaps, I'm missing something qutie obvious. Mechanism to Search the Archive + Repository, if any

Hi, What is the mechanism for searching the developers-list(a)monetdb.org archive? (A quick review of mailman users documentation didn't reveal that mechanism if one exists.) I'm trying to search for answers to questions like the following: Whether MonetDB has a github (or some other) repository that is maintained by the developers or owners of the project. What is the best way to obtain MonetDB 11.9.7 sources, which I'm trying to build locally? [Monetdb-developers] MonetDB on windows(visual studio 2010)

Hi : I am a new user and I downloaded the newest version ( MonetDB-11.11.7 ).Because my main work is under windows , I want to test and use MonetDB on windows, too.I know that you supplied MonetDB5-SQL-Installer-x86_64-20120813.msi for users to install on windows and I tried it, it worked. But my question is that I want to explore the source code of MonetDB , I download MonetDB-11.11.7.zip<http://dev.monetdb.org/downloads/sources/Latest/MonetDB-11.11.7.zip> and there is a directory named NT,I entered and then enter the directory install64 , in there I found MonetDB5-SQL-Installer.sln and I I think this is the source which I can use to create a visual studio project. So I used Visual Studio 2012 to open it and then compile. The result is that I failed. So my question is :(1) how to trace MonetDB's source code on windows with VS 2010 ,do you have any suggstion? (2)After I installed MonetDB server and client , how could I debug the server(the problem is pretty much the same as the first)? Thank you! Pohan Li

hi, i am a new learner of monetdb.And i have some questions below. 1 when I ran some queries on monetdb,I found that the memory was automatically released by monetdb.And it needs extra time to load data into memory again.I don't know why and if there are some triggers in monetdb? Thank you for helps. 2 how do i see the join path when i run a query? 3 what's source code structure? i want to read the source code .And any advices for better understanding source code. thank, guangliang peng
