Autotooling buildtools.
This should work without problems when running
bootstrap/configure/make/make install.
Parallel make works too.
autoconf 2.59 should be new enough (AC_PREREQ call in configure.ac).
After changing that, configure complains about Makefile.in missing.  Did
you forget to check in Makefile.am?
