about "MT" in gdk module

hi all, I found that in gdk module of monetdb, the file gdk_posix.c has many functions which begin with “MT”, and I want to ask that what's "MT", is that "MoneT", "Multiple Thread" or others? what's the meaning of "MT"? :) -- Best Wishes! zhanglei
