Re: [Monetdb-developers] error when running simple Xquery on Windows platform
Hi Daniel, I'm forwarding your mail to monetdb-developers@lists.sourceforge.net in the hope that someone can help you there. I have no idea myself what you can try to resolve this problem. Sorry! On 26-11-2006 23:21:07 -0500, dcr2108@columbia.edu wrote:
Dear Monet Team,
I am running into a consistent error when I try to run an example xquery from your website "books1.xq":
ERROR: interpret_params: mirror(param 1): invalid BAT. ERROR: interpret_params: [startsWith](param 2): evaluation error. ERROR: interpret_params: uselect(param 1): evaluation error. ERROR: interpret_params: +(param 2): evaluation error.
Steps to reproduce error: 1) 'Start' -> 'Programs' -> 'MonetDB XQuery' -> 'MonetDB XQuery Server'
2) double click books1.xq
3) THE ERROR OCCURS

Hello Daniel, I think this might be a Windows and/or old version related problem. On my machine (Fedora), the query works fine both with the Stable and the Current branches. Would you please let us know which version you are using and how did you install your MonetDB (using the windows installer or compiled from the source)? Maybe someone else can have an idea what's wrong here. Maybe you can also give us some information about your system (OS, CPU, mem, ...). Do you have problem only with this query, or do you also have problem running other XQuery queries? If yes, which ones? Regards, Jennie On Tue, Nov 28, 2006 at 02:38:00PM +0100, Fabian Groffen wrote:

I came across this bug a while ago... Seems to be related with the settings for caching documents in MonetDB/Xquery being corrupted. I think it has been fixed in the upcoming release. A temporary solution could be to throw away your database (make sure you don't have any valuable information stored in it) by deleting the 'dbfarm' directory, and afterwards restart Mserver. The problem should disappear. At least it did in my case (for a while ;). Greetings, Wouter p.s. the dbfarm directory should be stored somewhere near: C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\MonetDB -----Original Message----- From: monetdb-developers-bounces@lists.sourceforge.net [mailto:monetdb-developers-bounces@lists.sourceforge.net] On Behalf Of Ying Zhang Sent: dinsdag 28 november 2006 15:01 To: monet@cwi.nl; monetdb-developers@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: Re: [Monetdb-developers] error when running simple Xquery onWindows platform Hello Daniel, I think this might be a Windows and/or old version related problem.
