- There is no necessity to make the types known outside the typing. We can add the function signatures also locally.

- Only the atomic types can be casted -- so only add atomic predefined types.

@Sjoerd and Stefan: I think these changes should be propagated to the stable branch as well. Can you do that with a script or should I better do it by hand?

For us it's also a manual thing, so we wouldn't mind if you did it. But please use cvs commands to backport so that subsequent propagation sees that there are in fact no changes (otherwise we get conflicts). -- Sjoerd Mullender
