Ha die MonetDBs, Ik zie dat het niet meer langer toegestaan is om logische namen van documenten in de database te hebben die niet op .xml eindigen, bijvoorbeeld: let $site := "http://www.sigir2007.org/" let $pages := ("index.html", "cfp.html", "cfw.html") for $page in $pages return pf:add-doc(concat($site, $page), $page, "MySIGIR") geeft: ERROR = !ERROR: add-doc((null)): document name must end in .xml (3 such errors)! Dit mocht eerder wel. Kan dit teruggedraaid worden? XML documenten kunnen veel extensies hebben, bijvoorbeeld .rss, .xhtml, .svg, etc. Ik wil misschien wel toevoegen: sigir.html (webpagina in xhtml) sigir.xml (source van webpagina) sigir.rss (RSS feed voor pagina) sigir.svg (pagina als mooi plaatje) sigir.mml (wiskundige formulering voor pagina) enz., enz. Ik vind deze foutmelding te restrictief. Groetjes, Djoerd.

[MonetDB-users] SQL database recovery

Somehow I've managed to get MonetDB into a state that the sql_server does not startup sucessfully. Steps leading up to the failure were: 1. delete 49M rows from a table 2. reload 49M rows into table using COPY INTO 3. did select count(*) on table. 4. looked at sql_logs and noticed one of the files was approximately 5G. 5. killed monet process 6. restarted monet. I waited for about 30 minutes and the SQL frontend never responded. Normally steps 5 and 6 take about 8 minutes. Questions. 1. Is there a cleaner way to shutdown monet besides killing the process? I tried "commit();" before the shutdown but that never seems to decrease the initialization time. 2. what debug settings should I turn on to determine what is failing during --dbinit="module(sql_server)" ? 3. I noticed that there are several (700M) .buns files associated with a table that I had deleted all rows from before the restart. ls() reports a zero count but why are the files still that large?

How do I determine which filename belongs to which column in my SQL schema? I am trying to load some very large tables (50M rows in one and 250M in another). I add 500K rows in my batch, during the batch after 87.5M rows the server crashes with no error. The client receives the error "Connection terminated". If the 2G column size has been hit I'll normalize the table more and convert to integer/smallint to save on space.

Is there any way to configure Monet to display line numbers from the data file along with the error when performing a "COPY into" SQL command? e.g. COPY into mytable from 'E:/data/myfile.tab' using delimiters '\t','\n'; It is very time consuming to search the data file looking for the error cause.

It doesn't seem so because I have a primary key defined on another table and the "16:28:14.6411" time fails with a duplicate key.

[MonetDB-users] XQuery collection function only works on the first document

Hi All, I think i have found a bug (for MonetDB/XQuery) in the XQuery collection function. When using this function in combination with an XPath it only seem to work on the first document in a collection. For example: when trying the tutorial example (shown in http://monetdb.cwi.nl/projects/monetdb/XQuery/QuickTour/DOCMGT/index.html) "Opening All Documents in a Collection" i only get the author elements of the first inserted document (in my case bib.xml). I have tested this on the current release version (4.16.2) and the nightly build of 2007-03-16. Hope this helps to solve it, Greetings, Pepijn
