Putting field description in SQL CREATE table

Hi, I am working on developing a database web service layer for an open source plant/animal breeding platform. So far I rely on having field comment in CREATE TABLE SQL statement like CREATE TABLE "extract" ( "ExtractId" int NOT NULL auto_increment COMMENT 'Id of the DNA extract') ; for the online help. So far, we use MySQL for general storage, postgres for GIS and environment data storage. Both MySQL and Postgres support field comment in slightly different means. We are going to switch to MonetDB as our improved marker data storage. I have tested that the previous CREATE TABLE SQL would not work in MonetDB. Will MonetDB support this feature in the future? Multiple nodes

C++ user defined function

Hi, I'm trying to write a function in C++ and I thought I would just provide a makefile for it in my custom folder in MonetDB/sql/backends/monet5/CUSTOM. But it seems like all of the Makefiles in UDF sample are generated by the bootstrap. How do I get over this? I need to use external C++ libraries in the makefile.. Thank you for help. UDF insert

Hi, I'm trying to find this in already defined C functions, but with no luck.. What is the set of commands I need to use when I want to insert a row into a table? The row is just array of <dbl, dbl, int, int>. Also, how do I pass a row as a parameter to the function? Do I need to pass all of the columns separately, or can I pass the whole row as an array? MonetDB default character set

Hi, MonetDB is very good. I'm happy to have found this amazing open source product on the Internet. We want to use MonetDB to store high density marker (genotyping or snp) data. Is the default character set is UTF8 in MonetDB? Regards, Puthick
