Hi Stefan,I was trying to copy a part of huge table (create table as select) but I had not enough disk space (I had 30 GB free space ) so before the copy completed I got "lost connection". Therefore, I dropped a table (which has 20 GB) but I still have only 30GB of free space (I've restarted the server ). I've not noticed if I had had this problem before, because I had enough storage space so I'm not sure if I can reproduce the problem (which I still have). Thank you, Baraa

Hi Baraa,
if you delete (i.e., drop) a table, MonetDB should free the respective disk space sometime after the drop has been committed. If it does not, I consider this a bug. If you can repeat the behavior (i.e., disk space not freed after committed drop of a table), please file a bug report (including the instructions how to reproduce) via http://bugs.monetdb.org/
For now, you can also try to stop and restart your MonetDB server, and see whether this frees up disk space. If you do so, please report your opservations.
Thanks!
Best, Stefan

Hello, I'm using MonetDB (on ubuntu) for doing some performance tests. I had added and deleted a lot of tables and right now I have no more free disk space since it seems that MonetDB does not clean up disk space after dropping tables.
I would like to know the best way to clean up (as much as possible) disk space on MonetDB.
Thank you for your help, Baraa
