The problem with that approach is it is a fixed
offset. It doesn't account for DST shifts.

How can I configure the local time zone for MonetDB?
Upon login, "select current_timezone" returns 0.
set time zone local always resets the offset to 0.
Can I change this to follow my server's GMT offset including DST?
Like JDBC does upon connecting:
SET TIME ZONE INTERVAL 'XX' HOUR TO MINUTE;
where is something like '+01:00'
