Yup, that would work too. Does Monetdb-users list have an approval process for new members? I manage a yahoo groups based local python user group. New members have to answer 'why they are joining the list'. Most of the time this is enough to keep out automatic bots and obvious spammers. If SF has such a system, I volunteer to take care of new member approvals.
