Hi,
Newly created tables disappear if I follow this sequence of actions:
1. Create a new table and insert data into it. 2. Shut down MonetDB. 3. Manually remove the sql_logs folder. 4. Start MonetDB 5. Now the newly created table is gone.
What exactly is the purpose if the sql_logs folder, and when is it safe to delete it?
The sql_logs give you persistency, ie its never safe to delete them for a server with important tables. The server it self takes care of removing those sql log files it doesn't need anymore. Niels
The reason I deleted the sql_logs folder in the first place, is that a while ago I got into a corrupt DB state, and the mserver prompted me to remove the log folder. Doing so fixed the DB and it was usable again, so I assumed deleting the sql_logs folder would always be ok before starting Monet. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/deleting-sql_logs-and-disappearing-tables-tp23518145p2...
