Of course, there's always the option to build MonetDB from plain sources, i.e., get the "Super Source Tarball" from out download page at http://monetdb.cwi.nl/Download/ and use the included "monetdb-install.sh" script to build it (see `./monetdb-install.sh --help` for details). This requires a "reasonably" complete development enviroment, though, ... Stefan On Tue, Feb 09, 2010 at 01:55:59PM +0100, Gijs Molenaar wrote:

Hi,
I noticed the release for Karmic Koala but none for Hardy Heron.
There isn't any (anymore). You can try to install the karmic packages on hardy, probably they will work.
Is it possible to install monetdb with hardy?
You can also add the monetdb ubuntu source repository to you apt configuration, 'apt-get source' the source packages and build binary packages for yourself. But this is maybe a little bit complicated.
Is there perhaps any wiki page in monetdb documentation which expplains steps?
Unfortunately no.
Looking forward to trying monetdb!
Currently I'm rebuilding the package deployment system, I'm planning to also support older versions (LTS for example) of debian/ubuntu. I don't know when this will be finished though.
