Hi, on restart after a crash, MonetDB/SQL is supposed to recover itself from the crash. There is no option (and should be no need) for any explicit action. Please provide a details bug report via http://bugs.monetdb.org/ in case you experience any problems with crashes or during automatic recovery of the server on restart after a crash. To prevent data loss, i.e., in case of disk failure or alike, you might want to back-up your database regularly, though, either by dumping (e.g., using the "\D" command in mclient or mclient's "--dump" commanline option), or by stopping the server an backig up the complete dbfarm using your favorite (filesystem-) backup software. Hi all.
I plan to deploy monetdb into production environment, but i don't know how to recover from a crash.
I find some sql log files in var\sql_logs\$dbname\sql\, can i use these log files to recover, and how?
Or are there any other methods to recover from crashes?
