Tomograph produces the gnuplot file after seeing a complete query. During startup of mclient a few internal queries are already executed. try 1) start mclient, 2) start tomograph, 3) enter single SQL query in mclient window. In case of trouble use -D to see interaction. Unlike stethoscope, it ignores all output until it finds the start of a SQL query. So starting it after the query has been started leads to no effect.
