Hi Alexandra,
At the moment, we have an XML:DB driver for Java. This is a preliminary driver, but should work for XQuery queries. This driver is not in the main distribution (but it is in CVS/sources) because it has a dependency on the main XML:DB interfaces only available from the eXist project. If you are interested in this driver, I can give you some pointers of where to look and how to acquire/build it.
As for XUpdate, this is being worked on at the moment, but I don't know the fine details of the progress.
There is a MonetDB/Xquery release planned for end october (start of November). This release is focussed on adding XUpdate. Niels
Thanks for your interest in MonetDB/XQuery, Fabian

Hello all,
I was wondering if there is any documentation about the API for XQuery (i.e., how to write xqueries from a Java program). Also, I am interested in using some features of XLink and XUpdate on top of my XML database. Is support for any of these in progress?
Thanks in advance,
Alexandra
