Hi Sanjoy, For Centos make sure you have gcc, automake, autoconf, libtool, rpm-dev-tools configure your topdir in .rpmmacros create the build directories install the source rpm. You can rebuild binary rpms from the source rpm for Fedora if you want to run on RHEL/CentOS. (Obviously, you need some additional packages which MonetDB relies on.)

I have built myself on RHEL6 from the source rpm, and you can grab them for your convenience.

Please be aware, though that the RPMs under http://www.uptime.jp/downloads/monetdb/rhel6/x86_64/ carry version number 11.15.3, and thus suggest to be the Feb2013-SP1 release, rather than the latest Feb2013-SP3 release (version 11.15.11).
