[MonetDB-users] Image and Video Storage

Hi, I am thinking of storing images and video files in monetdb. I have come across user defined types like url. Is it worth defining custom types for images and video files or can i just use blob instead. I know the types come in handy from the usage point of view but from the storage and performance does it matter to monetdb?
