According to the above mentioned website I should now rebuild my DB with the '--enable-geom configure argument'. Unfortunately I'm unable to find the correct way to do it since yum installed a binary on my system and not the sourcecode.
This instruction is for building the binaries. But since you've used yum to install binaries, you don't need to do this.
The 'MonetDB-geom' package doesn't seem to to the trick since the result of the sample Code on the Website returns an empty result.
I'm also getting an empty result. But the important question is, do you get any errors? If you didn't install the binaries correctly, or if something else went wrong, you would get an error when you tried these queries. The very first uses MULTIPOLYGON which only exists when the GIS extension was properly installed. So if you didn't get an error, you're definitely on the right track.
Hope somebody can point me in the right direction.
