Hi Wouter, Thanks for your note. I will definitely give it a try. 2 more questions though. Is MonetDB amenable to being accessed in parallel? I will need to run many queries on the fly, and will certainly need multiple connections to the database. Also, how well does MonetDB/XQuery work with Perl? Is it better to stick to Java/Python for now? Thanks again for your help. Andy

Also, how well does MonetDB/XQuery work with Perl? Is it better to stick to Java/Python for now? I don't know how well the Perl interface has been tested with XQuery. I know from personal experience that the Java interface works quite well with XQuery.
