Cluster advantages MonetDB
Hi, What the cluster Advantages MonetDB, If a query in shard tables in a cluster can not be ordered, what the advantage of using a MonetDB cluster? besides the replication in case of failure. Computational advantages of course (if and how much you gain depends on the use case).

Hi,
Has replication support been added to MonetDB? If so, which version has it?
If not, may I please know about the replication being discussed in this
mail?
Thanks & Regards,

Hi,
Replication in MonetDB is achieved using multiplex funnel, basically
when you connect with a multiplex funnel, all command you send to the
server, execute separatelly in each server of cluster, this ways you
can use replication y monet db.
Yes, is a little rustic and manual (lack of automation), but is the
solution I founded using Monet. Here the user have all the control
over replication.
Good luck

Hai Vijay, Transaction replication has recently been added to the “default” branch of MonetDB, so most probably it will be released in the feature release of the coming Jul2015. I don’t when we’ll have a new release after Jul2015, but possibly later this year. For more information about how it works, please see “Transaction replication” of this blog: https://www.monetdb.org/blog/monetdb-sql-transaction-management-scheme There you can find the link to the paper with more detailed information. Small correction: transaction-replication was merged into default (the development brach on MonetDB) after a release brach for the next stable release was created (July2015) . Hence transaction-replication will not be part of a July2015 release. We are still in the process of writing a good manual how to try it out. Stay tuned. Best, Dimitar
