[MonetDB-users] cannot start MonetDB5 server on Windows anymore
Does anyone has this error and how can I get rid of it?. I’m running on Windows Server 2003 (on a different machine using XP I got the same error after rebooting the machine). It looks like some references are missing. It has all the signals that the server can not access the folder BACKUP in the database directory. Perhaps you have a strict access mode setting, which makes them read-only upon creation, or that you are running with a user identity that has not write permission on the folder. This leads to a failure to move files aside. In both cases, check the mode settings of bat\ and bat\BACKUP\* and make sure you run as the same user who installed mserver. Success and keep us posted on progress, because we don't have a Windows Server 2003 platform.

On 2007-02-25 19:05, Martin Kersten wrote:
