Server - location of tmp database objects
Hello, I was wondering if there is a way to specify for database where to put tmp files? For example when we use temporary tables etc. it is filling our data disk. I have another disk on the machine that I would like to use for temporary tables etc. Thank you for any hints. If there is consistency with where MonetDB writes the tmp table files, perhaps a short term solution would be a symbolic link to another disk, while leaving the rest of MonetDBs files alone. Is that a possibility?

I'm afraid not. All files are allocated underneath a subdirectory in the database "farm". The names are based on an internal ID, and these IDs are allocated to both temporary and permanent BATs by a process which doesn't know anything about how the BAT will be used in the future (i.e. whether it is going to be part of a temporary table, intermediate result, or permanent table).
