It seems that the -H / --history feature of mclient indeed does not work, unless you first create the history file in your home, e.g., via touch ~/.mapiclient_history_sql We'll check, whether this is a feature (and hence, out documentation needs to be updated accordingly), or a bug that needs to be fixed ...
