[MonetDB-users] Table trace in file system
Hi there, Is there any way to export\import tables between machines by only coping files and\or folders Thanks, Alfred -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Table-trace-in-file-system-tp20478519p20478519.html Sent from the monetdb-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
Hi Alfred, may I assume you are talking about SQL tables? In any case, MonetDB does not (yet??) provide any functionallity to transfer individual database tables between machines by "simply" copying files or folders --- if at all, this would in any case only be possible between binary compatible machines (and likewise MonetDB installations). Dump+restore is the recommended way of transfering data/tables between machines. In case you are dealing with binary compatible machines (and likewise MonetDB installations), you could transfer a complete database by copying the complete <dbname> folder from one machines dbfarm to the other machines dbfarm --- of course, both MonetDB servers need to be stopped and their logs flushed before copying the data.
