Since monetdb support window RANK functions, is it possible to extend the sql library to support also window aggregate function like SUM, AVG ... useful for running total and moving average.

In the default the window functions have be reimplemented. This is the first step towards more support for window functions including the aggregate functions. Unfortunately we are al time constraint to make much progress on this.

The current limitation of the rank function also applies to R and Python. Once we have time also these language extensions will better support the (new) Rank interface. Sorry for this (probably) disappointing answer ...
