[MonetDB-users] Master-slave replication support
I found monetdb options in the docs to setup master and slave. However no documentation explaining what to do after setting the properties. I have an older monetdb setup with lot of data, set master=yes. I installed monetdb on another machine(nightly build says slave option not found, so using stable build for the new installation) set slave=mapi:monetdb://host:port/db I have no idea what to do next. I saw http://www.monetdb.org/Documentation/Cookbooks/Recipes/Cluster, but that's not what I want. I am guessing its a work in progress. If it is so, are you planning to release it in July? Regards, Tapomay.
The replication code was experimental code and ditched. We do not intend to release any new code soon for this facility, beyond the already multiplexfunnels offered by the monetdb wrapper. regards, Martin On 7/11/12 2:53 PM, Tapomay Dey wrote:

Thanks for clarifying and helping out promptly.
What do you suggest to handle failover?
I don't want to lose data between scheduled dumps.
Yes my data comes from ETLs but I am purging the older source data. Was hoping that I could keep it here in the warehouse.
Any recipes you know of that people apply for commercial use of monetdb?
Thanks again,
Regards,
Tapomay.

In the Jul2012 release the option has been removed, since it is, as you found out, non-functional. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
